Siren Arts is honored to present The Geometry of Undoing, an exhibition of new paintings by NJ based artist Jennifer DiZefalo in her first solo exhibition.
The Geometry of Undoing is inspired by the bold, geometric patterns of barn quilts as seen on the sides of farmhouses, sheds and barns during recent family vacations to the Poconos in Pennsylvania. These painted quilt blocks, often eight foot squared or more, stand in contrast to quilting's origins as a historically feminine fiber craft. “This contrast drew me in,” says DiZefalo, who continues “I saw a relationship to the abstract painting I have been practicing and studying since art school.“
