Full Saturation Artist Bios:
Aphra Adkins lives and works in Takoma Park, Maryland. Adkins creates tangible versions of every-day items as they exist in her mind's eye. Through her artwork, Adkins's perceived reality becomes the objective reality of the viewer.
Genie Ghim Through her work, Genie invites the viewer to question preconceived ideas by challenging internal skepticism. Characterized by vivid color palettes and hard-edged abstraction, her visual language merges popular culture with historical and personal narratives. As an interdisciplinary artist and expatriate from Washington, D.C. (b. Seoul, Korea) her practice explores the dynamic interplay between tradition and innovation, with reflections on the formation of identity and collective preconceptions.
Genie attended the Corcoran School of Art and the Fashion Institute of Technology. She holds an MFA from American University where she received the Ruth Meixner-Bird Scholarship, the Robyn Rafferty Mathias Research Grants, and the Wolpoff Award for works on paper. She is an FY25 recipient of the Artists & Scholars Project Grant from the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County (AHCMC). Recently, Genie completed an artist residency at JOYA: arte + ecología in Andalucía, Spain, further expanding her engagement with intercultural themes and conceptual inquiry. She is currently a resident artist at Hamiltonian Artists, in the U Street Corridor.
Genie lives and works in Washington, D.C. and Madrid, Spain.
Rose Jaffe is a Washington, D.C. based visual artist, with mediums spanning mural painting, printmaking, and illustration. She has painted over 35 murals nationally and internationally, including over 25 in her hometown. She is dedicated to harnessing the power of art to spark conversation, build connection, and create social change.
Kate Sable’s paintings of curvilinear and gridded abstract forms are an ongoing investigation between analytical and intuitive use of color, line, gesture, and shape. Her practice directly engages personal metaphor and inquiry, while remaining strongly grounded in the painting process. Sable has recent solo exhibitions at her alma mater at Virginia Tech’s School of Art Armory Gallery (Blacksburg, Virginia) and Pazo Fine Art (Kensington, MD). Recent Group Exhibitions include Dickinson College (Carlisle, PA), Goucher College (Baltimore, MD), Left Field Gallery (Los Osos, CA), Circle Contemporary (Chicago, IL), River House Arts (Toledo, OH), Janice Charach Gallery (Bloomfield, MI), The Silva Gallery (Washington, DC), Art Enables (Washington, DC), and Dutoit Gallery (Dayton, OH). Sable’s work has been published in ArtMaze Magazine and Friend of the Artist (Volume 8), and she has been interviewed for The American Scholar, Inertia Studio Visits, I Like Your Work Podcast, and Baltimore based Podcast Beware the Artist. Recent Curatorial projects include SOFT POWER at Pazo Fine Art (Kensington, MD). Reviews include The Washington Post, Washington City Paper, Two Coats of Paint, among others. Sable earned her BFA from Virginia Tech (2005) and MFA from American University (2009) and she currently lives and works in Reston, VA.
